The Royal Cinema in Toronto celebrated Halloween with a screening of Andrzej Zulawski's controversial 1981 film Possession. Mark (Sam Neill) returns home to Berlin, after completing his work as some sort of spy, and is surprised by the news that his wife Anna (Isabelle Adjani) wants to leave him. As the couple's relationship begins to deteriorate, Anna begins to act more hysterical and disappears for long periods of time, during which Mark develops an attraction for his son's teacher Helen (also Isabelle Adjani), who looks quite similar to Anna, save for her glaring green eyes. It soon becomes apparent that Anna has been hiding a dark secret.
