A Chinese immigrant woman goes on an adventure through the multiverse in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh) is a Chinese owner of a struggling laundromat, who is undergoing a tax audit while her marriage to her husband Waymond (Ke Huy Quan) begins to crumble. In addition, Evelyn’s disapproving father Gong Gong (James Wong) has just arrived from China and Evelyn has a strained relationship to her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu), due to her lesbian relationship with her girlfriend Becky (Tallie Medel). While on her way to an appointment with IRS agent Deirdre Beaubeirdra (Jamie Lee Curtis), Evelyn is shocked when Waymond suddenly changes personality and warns her that the multiverse is being threatened by all-powerful entity Jobu Tupaki and that Evelyn is the only one with the power to stop her.
